1. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store. Once it’s installed, accept the agreement. Don’t do anything else yet. Just close the app and proceed to the next step.
2. Open a browser like Chrome or Safari, and go to Portal.office.com. Log in with your Office 365 credentials.
3. Once credentials are accepted, it should say “More information is required” and you’ll press Next.
4. It will ask you to download the Microsoft Authenticator now if you haven’t already. Once it’s downloaded and installed, tap Next.
5. Tap “Pair your account to the app by clicking this link.”
The Microsoft Authenticator app should open, showing that the account has been paired successfully.
6. Go back into your browser and tap next. Microsoft will test MFA by giving you a number and sending a notification to your app.
7. Tap the notification and enter the number they sent you. You may be prompted by your phone for facial recognition or biometrics.
8. Once the login attempt is approved, the page will let you know, and you can tap Next.
At this point, you will be signed in and taken to your home page. MFA is successfully set up. You are done!
